Welcome back to Binghamton! We hope you all had a safe, enjoyable summer. Harpur's Ferry has settled in its new squadroom and bays and has maintained a steady call volume throughout the summer covering both campus emergencies and mutual aid calls throughout Broome County and the surrounding region. Thank you to all members who contributed their time during the summer. Also, a major thank you is owed to all who assisted in moving to and settling in the squadroom.

With the start of the semester comes our General Interest Meeting for those of you interested in joining Harpur's Ferry SVAS. This meeting will be held Sunday, September 11th at 7pm. The location will be announced as we near the date. This meeting is mandatory for anyone wishing to join this semester; interviews will be scheduled and applications will be distributed.

For current members, we will have our General Membership Meeting at 5pm on September 11th, location to be announced. Please be sure to attend as we will be reviewing important information in addition to shift scheduling and important votes.

Application Period Complete

Thank you to all who applied to join the ranks of Harpur's Ferry this semester. After two weeks of our newly implemented application process, our Membership Committee has selected 6 new members. The new membership consists of 2 NY State Certified EMT-Bs and 4 non-certified personnel. This semester's Advanced First Aid and Emergency Care (AFAEC) class will start this Wednesday with an agency orientation. Congratulations to all of our new members!

Please keep in mind that with the competitive application process, we strongly recommend applying again in the fall semester if you are still interested in working with Harpur's Ferry EMS. Many of our current members did not get in on their first, second, or even third time applying. Good luck, and thank you!
